Hi Brooke A most descriptive poem, even without the lovely artwork your words show the scene. As usual your rhyming is excellent Cheers Gaye

Hi Brooke, I don't know how I missed
reviewing this one. It is beautifully
crafted as to meter and rhyme and the imagery
is striking. As a metaphor for life it is uplifting.
I enjoyed it so much.

Terrific description on a stream when the ice has begun to melt. It speaks of hope and renewal. This is what I want to see through my camera lens. joan marie

Brooke, you write such startlingly beautiful poetry. i am absolutely convinced that you will one day be world famous! This is just wonderful. The ottava rima works very well for you ... but yours is the talent which makes it do so.

HiBrooke,

Loved the images this conjures as you read, one can almost smell the winter forest stream and hear its gurgle as the reflecting pool drains. Nice one.

Once again, the picture you paint with your words is marvellous. Many thanks for a really good read, Brooke. I find myself wondering what little beauty you will share with us today. Pat.

My life follows directions randomly,
guided only by turbulence and strife,
towards a destination in the sea
of darkness lurking at the end of life.
A terminal condition, this must be
endured until our meeting with god's knife,
but on the way I'll laugh and spread my words,
the naysayers are free to call 'absurd!'

Brooke you honor us yet
with another of your delicately
beautiful poems that with
its easy flow and lush verbiage
brings peace and wonder to a
weary spirit. An enjoyable read
and very sage. no nits or spags.

A beautiful poem and I really like the Title "UNEXPECTED BEAUTY" The line..."No chill in ice and snow only beauty in the water's flow" is very flowing. PUN INTENDED!! The picture illustration fits the mood of you poem well.
Great Job!
Sincerely,
Earthlover

I am reaching into my thoughts to grasp your true meaning. I'll take a swing-- I can see this, the stark riverbank as a human, lost or perhaps feeling destitute. Life seems so hopeless. Then, something is remembered. A hint of who they used to be. Hope returns. :)

Thank you LE - I love it when people look for the metaphorical meaning as well as the literal. Your interpretation is lovely :-) Brooke
