Thank you for such a comforting poem. Only until two years ago that I stopped being the kind of person described in your poem. God has helped me through a lot of pain. I wonder how you can be so good with words...God bless!

Thank you so much, Fransiska. This is a most generous review. I so appreciate your telling me that this poem connected to you on a personal level, as that is so important to me as a writer. Brooke :-)

Brooke,
This poem has so much empathy and feeling and is written beautifully. There are so many readers who could and may be touched by your well written words. It really is wonderful.

What a beautiful prayer! The thought is lovely, and the presentation makes it outstanding. I read it twice, first to hear it and secondly to share in it. ann

So cast your lazy eye on me
and see the man beside me,
tunnelling in hope and fear
into the ground beneath me.
Breath your winter's breath on me
and skate the clouds above me,
hate me now without,
for all the thoughts within me.

This is really very nice...touching, poignant, important...but most of all thank you for this. I mean that personally as I live in chronic pain and grief every day. I am one of those who have given up and only exist from day to day trying to find something to do to take my mind off of the alternative. I hope you do not mind if I bookcase this. Thank you again for this beautiful prayer. Many blessings.

Of course I don't mind - I feel honored that you would want to save this and read it again. It means a great deal to me when something I write is meaningful on a personal level to a reader, so thanks so much for sharing this with me. I do hope you find a way to ease your pain. Brooke

Hi Brooke. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could help everyone to believe that they have a voice, can make a choice, can believe and not live in grief. I think if more people just believed in all of this, it might become a reality. Lovely message with great rhyming scheme. Sue

What an inspiring, ethereal, hopeful message for the new year! I am one of those souls you spoke of; afraid to pray for hope as battered hope is THE killer. Hope is necessary, but once it's lost, you need to be very careful how you welcome it back; it's a fast and slippery slope back to the land of no hope, where looking at razor blades and always knowing where your gun is, is the only way to stay alive. To remind yourself you always have at least one choice.
Whoopsie, didn't mean to get into my personal drama. And yes, I am receiving professional help. Bottom line, I am printing this and carrying it with me always. later and God bless, shy

Thank you, Shy. I so appreciate your sharing your feelings with me. Nothing means more to me as a writer than knowing a poem has connected with a reader on this level. Your generous rating is wonderful, but the comments mean even more. Brooke :-)
