So sorry--I already used up my 6's, and this is deserving. Perfect form, can easily see a troubadour keening this below his mistress' window. No suggestions or corrections. Fave line: 'and all those times I still believed.' later and God bless, shy ps sorry for the brevity; not feeling well tonight

Kyrielle -- completely new to me, but pleasant to the ears and eyes. I enjoyed the work. Sort of feels a bit like Auld Lang Syne -- which is the point! Good job. ann

adewpearl,
Excellent kyrielle to prompt thoughts of the past year and the upcoming one. My favorite stanza was the second, and my favorite line is from that stanza:
"for shattered dreams and dreams restored"
Thanks for sharing these thoughts and provoking thoughts in your reader. Happy New Year to you. You have provided much inspiration for me during this past year. elaine

Let's hope that 2010 is a rebirth of our country and the end of a long hard fought war. Here is to a happy life without fear. May the next 10 years be glorious!

Brooke,
Too many writers, in my opinion, have no regard for structure in terms of rhythm and rhyme. I always know your poetry will adhere to the style in which you are writing and will be consistently pleasing. Thank you.

Thank you, Duane - that means a lot to me as I also believe we need to honor the beauty of rhythm and rhyme. To me, if a poem does not have flow, then it is prose. Brooke :-)

A lovely poem Brooke. I specially like the reassuring way it reminded me that everything that happens helps us grow, and whatever feels bad will soon pass. Great flow, and gentle warmth combine to make another winner.
Kind regards. Sally

Hi Brooke, How time flies and it makes you realize just how short our lifespan is. It's hard to believe that 2010 is upon us.
Very educational author notes which were very helpful.
A well written smooth flowing poem that had good rhythm and rhyme.
All the best for the New Year.
Best wishes,
Malcolm
