We get a little snow here on the east coast of NC but not very often and for that I'm thankful. It makes too much mess.
Enjoyed reading your winning creation and the things about you.
Congratulations on the win, Buck

Thanks Buck. Just logged on and will be reading the other entries in a bit. Congrats to you, as well. And YEAH that you don't get that nasty white stuff, either. It is a mess, and it's cold! :) Blessings, Deb

Super sweet! Is this going in our children's book? Hope so - I really love it. Don't change anything.

Hi Deb!
I can halfway understand your joy at the surprising, "Snow Day." When we lived in Quincy, Illinois it would have been ordinary but we would feel the same way if it happened here in Riverside, Ca. They rarely have snow, but it has happened,
giving everyone a happy surprise for a day - or for a few hours.
I especially treasured this poem.

Oh, I'm SO glad you're back! Hope you had a wonderful holiday and a joyful month away.
Thanks so much for the six stars. This is hitting a chord with a lot of people. And guess what? We have snow again today. Beginning to not like the wet, white stuff so much. How did you do it for days on end? You're a better man than I, Gunga Den!
I had every intention of having Looking for Orion ready for an editor before your return, and took a couple of writing jobs instead. But it's next -- soon as I get this stupid webpage done for this lady. Shame on her for offering me cash!! :)

How whimsically delightful this is to contemplate the reason for the snow man's absence - did he melt or did he just run away? LOL Great cadence and rhyme enhance the humor of this highly entertaining and imaginative quatrain poem :-) Brooke

That was lovely, Deb.... What a good picture you paint! I knew there was a good reason to keep a finger on the pulse of your posts... and you've proved it already!

MamaDeb,
Your Quatrain poem "Snow Mystery" is wonderful and well written. Your descriptive scheme depicts snow. I like in Central Oklahoma and Christmas eve we got 14" of snow. I hadn't snowed here like that in a few years. I liked the art work you used. I like the lines:
'My snowman must have run away,
each foot-fall filled with fright.'
A great entry for the Quatrain poetry contest.
Melissa.

Having a white Christmas for the first time in your lifetime is worth a 6 on its own. This is very well written and definitely conveys the joy and wonder of such an event. Very nice work with this one. I enjoyed the notes too. They really added to the beauty of the poem.

This is so cute. I love the way you talk about the 'Snow Thief' and how the 'snowman must have run away'. What a lovely way to spin such a normal activity.
Bet of luck in the contest.

Now, you know if I'm 49 and have seen my first white Christmas, this is far from normal for us! :) Thank you for your kind review. The wording got the effect I'd hoped for. Blessings, Deb

Loved the symmetry of the poem. The characterization of the prose popped to life. I'm actually a born and bread Yankee an have lived with snow my whole life. Until I read MamaDebs poem I truly didn't appreciate what I had in my own back yard.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author

What a kind and gracious review; thank you. We often miss the obvious things in our lives until we see them through other's eyes. I do appreciate your comments. Blessings this new year, Deb
