Hi Brooke What fun, lovely rhyming. It reminds me of 'ten in the bed and the little one said move over, move over etc
It would br great set to music.
Oh well on with the house work. LOL Gaye

You know Brooke the show I just had, because of numbers in classes I had 9 Drummer's Drummers and 12 Lords a Leaping. The drummers came on the stage one at a time to the tune of "This old man he played one he played nik nak on my drum etc up to 9. It worked well. Cheers GAye

Thank goodness, one hung in there until the end. Clever and humorous, a lot of fun to read. Although I am glad this season's writings are so much closer to faith, I am glad to see someone put some fun back into it. Great job, joan marie

I've written several of the faith ones - I believe Christmas is a time for the sacred and the secular sides - why some people pit one against the other is beyond me. I know one person who wrote a Santa poem who got docked a star for not having Jesus in it! That is just ludicrous. Thanks so much, Joan Marie :-) Brooke

Margaret Snowden sent me quite a bawdy Twelve Days of Christmas. She was unsure about sending it. She sent it in a pm. I laughed so hard. That's what it's about too. Joy and laughter. jm PS: I can pm it to you if you are interested.

She sent it to me too :-)

How fun!
I really enjoyed this witty poem, Brooke. :)
This is adorable.
I could picture each drummer and the cause of their end. LOL

This was a blast to read. Very imaginative and memorable.

Five drummers drumming looked grand with every stride
till one slipped on a patch of ice and hurt his manly pride. <--I especially liked this verse.

Good job, my friend. :)

Nic, thank you - most people liked the collision with the elf best, so it is nice to know another verse has a fan! LOL Brooke :-)

I can see this made into a Christmas book for children. Imagine the clever drawings that could accompany the text. Seriously...think about it!

This made me smile, especially the end. I found it amazing how even in this kind of poem you made the rhythm perfect...of course, one has to read it in the right way, too. Excellent job and good luck in your further work.
