Eternal slumer beckons me
with pale blanket's bliss.
Sometimes the gifts pile up too high
and bury beneath.
If wonder costs a fortune's charge,
imagination dies,
the winter numbs extremities
and offers chill relief.

This is very pretty, and guess what? I just wrote a poem about snow and mentioned fairies in it! I swear I wrote it before I read this...so we think vaguely alike, on some points anyway. That's pretty neat, by the way, how the pic is actually snowing! I like when you said "feath'ry fields and muted sound"...that is a lovely expression.

Gee whiz, Brooke...it must be Christmas or something...You have actually written a poem which mentions you know where and doesn't make me shiver in fear. :>) This is a lovely triolet with smooth flowing lines and terrific apt rhymes. I just love the sound of it and the calm pleasant feeling it conveys.

You make the reader feel the magic...excellent.

Thank you, Amicus - yep, it's Christmastime! :-) What did some poor fairy ever do to you to make you so fairy phobic? LOL Brooke :-)

I always learn so much about poetry from you - well I read what you tell us - I don;t know how much I learn for sure, but one thing is for sure - I love what you write!
Sorry about the run-on sentence - I think I'm tired LOL

I really loved that poem so much because it had moving pictures and everything. It really inspired me; I mean, I loved how it sounded. The picture went great with the poem. Everything was beautiful - everything was perfect. I know that there is not anything wrong with it.
