adewpearl,
I love this one! Today is one of those days, and my sweet husband and I are stashed away, sheltered from life's storms. I feel blessed, and your poem reinforced my safe feelings. elaine

Neat...snow covered red peppers depicting red holiday bells. Also peppers symbolizing heat. I like your poem.
Merry Christmas My Friend,

A beautifully scripted piece of
writing in which although the scene
was not written for men of the sea,
it somehow gave me the feeling of the
Ancient Mariner as he looked out on
the storm tossed seas, heard the bells
of danger, felt the icy cold, and sought
the haven of a warm heart to come home to.
Well done

Oh, this is lovely!! And the picture is perfect! Great flow everywhere--except maybe on the 4th line, something's not quite right about that one. Other than that, though, wonderful job!

Hi Brooke,
It's always such a treat to read your poetry, and at the same time, especially when it comes to nature poems, the knowledge that my body still yearns for the seasons represented by the months.

I LOVED your poem, truly. I write many sonnets and most are in iambic pentameter. Love William Shakespeare's work which he's written many sonnets in this style.
Your pic above your poem just takes what you wrote and gives the reader a fine visual of the wintry weather. Not needed truly, but it adds to your poem.
Short, sweet and very colorful. Thanks for sharing

Oh, for each of us to find the haven, the shelter from the storms of life, the love that will keep us warm and cozy.
What lovely lines, beautiful art, and a positive message.
Well done, once again.

Dear Brooke,
How beautiful. It is unusual for you to do romantic poetry but here you do so with great style and flare and such powerful form.
I love the ryhme scheeme of the ottava, it is simple but so effective. I would have given you a six, you truly feserve one, sadly FS will not allow it.

Thank you, Steve. I truly appreciate your wish for a six, and yes, enjoy a romantic poem from me as much as you can because it could be months before you see another! LOL Brooke

I promise you a place where you'll stay warm
if I can be your shelter from the storm.
I do so lovet his poem! You paint a scene both terrifying and intriguing. Storms brewing and cold spreading. Yet at the end, you offer a place of refuge that one cannot resist.
