The meaning of Christmas to me.....18 total reviews

Beautiful thoughts, well written! I love people who retain the meaning of Christmas and pass that along to their children.
There are so many commercials that are aimed at kids, trying to teach them that the only meaning of Christmas is their presents.
Good job!

It was the way I was raised and felt the importance of teaching my babies the same way. I truly appreciate you noticing that. xoxo

Some very heartfelt thoughts that we all could benefit from. Wouldn't it be nice if we all could reflected on the true meaning of Christmas and spend less time getting caught up in materialistic aspect of the season. Wonderful thoughts and good luck with the contest.

Very nice essay. I did notice one correction needed:
"Celebrating baby Jesus's birthday is a priority to my children and I."- should be 'me'.
good luck. Jordan

It is heartening to hear of someone actually teaching their children that Christmas is in fact a celebration of the birthday of Jesus (whether or not he was actually born on that day.)
Once the central focus is right everything else can be enjoyed too.
I like your sentiments.
Best wishes for the contest.

You have a wonderful Christmas spirit. And I applaud you, Heidi, for passing it on to your children. May you all have a wonderful holiday season and may Santa fulfill all your children's wishes and leave a little happiness in your stocking as well. You sound like a wonderful deserving mother.

It is true that we should have the Lord on our minds on his special day. So many children only know Christmas as a holiday for Santa. It is sad that they have never heard the story of the real Christmas.

Hello Heidixoxo,
A very well thought-out and neatly written account of the Christmas Spirit. Focus on others is the underlying theme. I like that angle.
I found only one tiny flaw. The opening line in the third paragraph should read "...a priority to my children and 'me.'" Objective case, rather than the subjective "I".
Well done. Good luck in the contest.
