brooke,
i can see this one in a book. daughter has a book called ten timid ghosts. basically the same kind of theme. something happened to them one by one until there was none. i think you could do well with this one.
love,
barbara

What a cute fun poem, combining elements of secular Christmas in a delightful way. I thoroughly enjoyed this poem. Great use of rhyming couplets, which work wonderfully well in an amusing poem. Great juxtaposition of picture and poem.

Thank you, Al - secular Christmas is getting bashed in so many poems - I figured it was time to celebrate it a little! Brooke :-)

There are good things about secular Christmas; they just have been misappropriated and maligned by the greedy. You're welcome for the review.

I didn't even notice that you had written it. I will look to see if any of your fairies made it over to my tree.

If you don't mind, I'd like to make a copy of this poem to read to my grandchildren next weekend when we make our pre-Christmas visit. I'm sure they will love this - I will give you full credit, of course, for I would never take credit myself. This is so delightful - it brings back those
wonderful feelings of being a child at this time of year.
Thank you for making me smile! I'm sure there are many more smiles and giggles coming your way with this one!

I actually had an idea to take it one step further and illustrate it for the grandkids. If you ever have an idea about making this into a book and you need an illustrator, I'd like to try out for the position! Carolyn

Dear Brooke,

I adored this fabulous and Fun read, it has a brilliant flow as I read it out loud. You paint a strong picture of fantasy.. could see the mischief caused by the fairies....this is pure fun and delightful.
I have yet to put up my tree, recently I have placed a star on top. My childhood family tree always had a fairy with a yellow dress and wand bought from Woolworth in the early 1960s. Each year she would be brought down from the loft with all the Christmas decoration for her star place at the top of our tree.
This year perhaps I shall try to buy a replacement fairy, on dressing the tree I shall give a thought to you and this lovely poem....strong with confidence in knowing she will keep me company.

Steve

Thank you, Stephen. What a lovely story to share with me. Every year I get out my Rudolph, a Stieff stuffed animal dated 1951, the year of my birth. I could not celebrate Christmas without him - my daughter has many fairy ornaments that I bought her over the years. Thanks so much, Stephen :-) Brooke

This is a fun poem to read, my friend. I found myself
on edge as I read, wanting to see what happened to the others. I bet children will love this. Nicely done.

Great fun, this poem. I enjoyed the fanciful fairies you created. Maybe, being fairies, they will miraculously return one night while you are sleeeping! Excellent imagery in this one, Brooke. Your poem can be enjoyed by children of all ages! Blessings to you for the Christmas season, Linda
