CONGRATULATIONS Brooke! I love this. I really love the line "I feel my sorrows taking flight", to me, this is the essense of the poem. I love being up at night when the moon is out. It is gorgeous. I cannot wait for warm nights again, and the sound of a whipporwill ... Susan

That was fantastic. You hit the magic of the moon right on the head of the nail...lol. This takes me time traveling to many nights just a you described. This poem danced very well. Nothing to critique, just a well crafted piece. Congrats on your win, well deserved :)

How can a watery ball of cheese have such an effect on mankind? And yet it does. The moon in the sky like a big pizza pie, that's amore. Even in poetic forms the moon casts a calm that brings the lovers together with tomato paste and pepperoni. And in a full moon it brings out neck biters and werewolfs. Who'd a thunk a night light could do all that? Great job sis, all these awards for just a shiny moon. Mike

This was wonderful. Congratulations on winning the contest. I loved the imagery- the peacefulness of the night lit by the moon. I'm a big fan of the quatern (which I've only learned about in the past month!). It's such an interesting form. Thanks for sharing. Jordan

This one is extra special. I love the moon at night and your poem captures what I hold dear with the moon. I loved the first verse because it is so right and just sets the tone for the rest of the poem. Thanks for crafting this beautiful poem. -ray

Very nice, Brooke. A shame you have to explain your rhyme, true or not it works but I do love the use of slant rhymes and hate those who question, LOL Congrats on winning the contest. Beautiful job.

Thanks, Jo Lynn, unfortunately on this site it is easiest to explain once before having to explain to four or six or eight reviews that question something!! Brooke :-)

There really is something quite magical about the moonlight, just the other evening I thought that I had left an outside light on but I had not and it was indeed the light of the full moon.
Very well written you have captured the essence of the night

Beautiful in colors, in words, in thought, in structure -- an all-around lovely poem. The peace and calmness that radiates from this work are appropriate to the title. Great job. ann
