What a beautiful way to describe the letting go of problems in one's life. The kite initially is tied to you by the string and carries you along. The kite is the one deciding where you go, be it up or down.
The kite is the one that gets blown around by the elements and pulls you into the battle as well. So to find freedom and be able to live again, the release of the kite allows you to let go of all that stress and pressure and live again. this could also be referring to problems in your life - stress from work, from children or a partner. When you finally decide to let go - to change jobs, let the child do his/her own battles or separate from the partner - then the burdens are lifted from your shoulders, setting you free to live your own life again. There's so much meaning contained in these few words. Well done

I don't know if letting the kite go does take your troubles away. I love the idea that it would. Nice job with this poem.

This poem is in good naani form and speaks a great truth about how much better a person can feel if not gripping so tightly on to all those burdens of life - just to let go is so much harder than it seems it should be, but if one can manage it, what a reward will follow. The image of the kite is perfect! Brooke :-)

This is a good contest entry. Your exercise in letting go of your problems to enable self growth is very well described in this poem. A powerful analogy.

Hi Amada,

Nice piece of Naani, a Japanese form I believe and one I have often thought probably works best in that language. Yor work evokes an good image and your message of "letting go" is a good one. Well done

Thank you for the wonderful poem! Its got a carefree, almost whimsical feel to it. Its really lovely and makes me want to go out and fly a kite too. I haven't done it for many, many years.

Oh, this was such an adorable Naani poem! How creative, that! You are right, when you release that hold, it is indeed a great weight off your shoulders! I love kites. I love to see the joy of kids on the beach who fly kites. Your Naani is well structured, the visuals hit the roof, and it's very dynamic and moving.

Good luck in the contest.
