I've never heard of this type of poetry before, but you did it up just right! We don't get many cancelled due to snow, but I can see where that would be a damper! Great photo, great poem. Hope you won! Deb

Hi Deb, I never heard of this type of poetry either....until today. It rminded me of a reverse haiku. Instead of the 3/5/3 syllable count this has a 5/3/5 count to it. I wasn't sure if I could come up with something or not to write about. Luckily for me I remembered the picture I took of the snow covered picnic table and I got my poem. Thank you for the great review. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Hugs and Smiles, Helvi :o)

Dear Helvi2,
I love your alliteration , the word " cancelled" and "sprinkled" I love most, and your creativity to think on the opposite situation (No Barbecue) is great. How could the white chili pop into your mind, then? It's imaginative, kind regards, amel

Hi, Helvi, I was thinking of entering this contest until I came across your entry. I guess I should hang on to my five member dollars. It doesn't get any better than your poem. Too cute!!! The photo is great, too. Mary

Hi Mary, Thank you for the ultimate compliment in saying that because of my poem you were thinking of not entering the contest. I am truly honored by your kind words. I don't think a review can get any better than this. Thank you so much!! I'm so glad you enjoyed this. Hugs and Smiles, Helvi :o)

A hysterical poem. It put a smile on my face. This is one of a very few poems where the exclamation mark works well. The oxymoronic phrase "white chili" is a work of genius.

Hi Al,
I knew that picture would conjure up something good. When I took the picture last February, I was thinking how funny it would be to imagine a picnic in the snow. When I thought about a barbecue, I thought about condiments or spices you might have and "chili" came up. It seemed perfect, for a play on words.
I'm so glad I put a smile on your face, because in knowing that I couldn't help but smile myself.
Thank you my friend for your wonderful review

I love word play - white chili has just totally tickled my fancy and has me laughing out loud :-) What a fun poem in this form I've never heard of before, and a great complementary picture. This is just TOO clever! Brooke :-)

This is a good poem that could have been entered in a few categories. Good visuals and pretty darn funny. Good luck in the contest.

Excellent job for a first lune poem in my opinion. I've never attempted one myself. I like the "white chili on the ground" Good one. Darlene
