Excellent Haiku, Brooke. I love cider, but I think I like the fresh apples even better, but the last line of your haiku (I forget what it's called :) is perfect for the theme of this gem.

How cool - I have an apple cider candle burning! What a great backdrop for this charming poem.
What a gift. I really enjoyed this fragrant, mouth-watering haiku.

    Honeycrisp apples are great and last a very short time on the market.
    They are in season right now and, luckily, even Wal-Mart carries them for a lower price than other grocery stores.
    Don't know how you feel about shopping at Wal-Mart but their price is unbeatable on my favorite fruit.
    Yum.

The one sure thing about these short
poems Brooke is that the concentrated
meaning is always there and even more
powerful than many words can provide.

First off I have to compliment your vocabulary usage with the word "pippin", it has now officially become my word of the day. This is a well written poem and really makes me crave apple cider. Very well done.

I shared a wonderful day last week apple picking with our grandchildren. Almost seems autumn wouldn't be complete without it! You have captured that segment of the season beautifully. Mary

You have a great mastery over the English language. This haiku is constructed with economy of words and deep meaning in mind. I think the Japanese of yore would smile upon hearing it. Good one!

    No Sci-Fi, but I have a humorous vampire story in the wings. Need to get that out of my system before I return to literary/commercial fiction.

Nice haiku. It has great imagery in such a few words. Your presentation with the artwork and color is done very well. Nice job on this short but wonderful poem.
