I was looking for more fairy poems, found a couple, and then I found this beautiful and sad poem. It reminds me of one of my all-time favorite short stories, O.Henry's "The Last Leaf." What a precious gift you have. Everything around you is a living, breathing, thinking and feeling entity. I love it. Maryellen

oh, I like this brooke. I love the rhyme scheme as you have laid it out for us. the idea of a rose and her shadow being friends, and there for each other is great. and as the one fades away, the other does the same in grief.
