Dear Brooke,
Great stuff. Right off the flower kick and those odd, but charming formats you love so well, into a good old limerick form, whimsical and potent.
Regards
Reg

LOL
I enjoyed this, Brooke!
I've done it 'my way' before - many times I crash and burn (Ha-Ha), but I still think MY WAY is the best. haha
Silly mood.
Thanks for the chuckle.
Waiting rooms are no fun!!
I wouldn't be in a 'flowery' mood either. ;)

Your limerick is a perfect anthem -
a counterpoint to "I Did it My Way"
and something we can all identify with
either literally or figuratively. (And
some of us can identify with it both
ways!) I love your concise expression
of stress! Carolyn

I think mechanics are simultaneously the saviours of the modern citizen and the devil incarnate. They have a very real power over us; the power of specific, helpful knowledge, and that means that some of them exploit it mercilessly!

Mike, thank you. Actually, I have an honest mechanic, thank goodness, but our state mandates these inspections and I actually did need a battery too, so I was just stressed over the bill. I wouldn't have been able to write or joke at all if I'd been stressed over a dishonest mechanic LOL. Brooke

It's a pleasure to see a metrical poem in which the meter is as it should be. This little limerick is quite satisfying, rhythmically.
But if one is forced off life's highway, has one died?

Redux, thank you. I work extremely hard to make sure my meter is correct in anything I write :-) Brooke

brooke... great job. fun piece. here in Montana (and I suspect, in other parts of the world as well) we have a saying that there are two seasons...winter and construction. potholes and detours and torn up roads all over the place. getting from point A to point B leads through all the other letters of the alphabet. thanks for the smile.

This is the best entry I've read yet in this contest. As a limerick, I might have done it a little differently, but who cares.

LOL... You were writing in the moment, weren't you Brooke. This had some humor, yet spoke a volume of truth. Got a chuckle out of me as I can relate..." : ) Judy
