Great entry for the summertime six word contest. I think you have summed it up well in these six words. Great imagery of a serious man spending time with his child. Good luck in the contest.

Serious business,
building sandcastles with Dad.
What a beautiful memory maker... and such great depth in so few words.
Very well done.

Excellent, Sherry. I hate the six-word things because they're hard to review. I have to say a lot more than six words to comment. Picture is perfect, as are the colors, and the six words tell a story.

This is a fun contest, and your
entry is terrific! I would say
that dads usually take tasks like this
seriously, so building a sandcastle
generally becomes a "monumental" project!
Good luck in the contest! Carolyn

I have done this with my grandchildren many times, and loved it, this is so great, and the words are in perfect order, no revisions, and no errors, thank you so much for sharing.

There is no more serious business than building memories. Very well done and I think in six words you told a complete novel. Good job.

I love the picture that complements this - whoever built that series of sandcastles really did make serious business out of it!! Mine usually were made with one overturned bucket! LOL
This is a great entry in the six word summer vacation contest :-) Brooke

Hi Brooke - hope you're doing well. Thanks for taking the time to read and comment on my "little summer tale". That is a great picture, isn't it? The one that we built wasn't quite that elaborate, but it was very close ... And the afternoon created a wonderful memory that is even more special now that my Dad is gone.
thanks again for reading - sherry

My dad never built sandcastles like that with me, but he did build sandcasteles. You poem is very nice and each word you chose fit perfectly together. Wonderful job and good luck with the contest.
