Maybe you should write hymns ! Seriously. This poem is as lovely as the accompanying photograph.
Great line: "when death is dealt such sweet defeat..."
Looking out at my desert-parched roses, both they are I are ready for a "refreshed domain".

Thank you, my friend - I have actually thought from time to time about writing hymns :-) I'm glad you like this one and appreciate your reviewing a poem no longer promoted :-) Brooke

What a lovely kyrielle, Brooke! Your meter and rhymes are perfect, and your message of the healing rain is excellent. Very nicely done.

This morning, I was feeling a bit off..not truly depressed, just not myself. Then, I decided to read some poems....
The minute I turned to yours ...well the raindrops on the rose were so beautiful, stunning in fact. I smiled.
Then I read your words...how uplifting can you get. I hope that doesn't sound corny..but that's exactly how I felt. I reread it again and ....well
I'll just thank you for the lovely poem and reminding me I should rejoice with the blessings I have. Thank you.

Carol, thank you so so much for your generosity, and even more so for sharing with me the way this poem was able to lift your spirits. Nothing means more to me than knowing something I wrote connected with a person in that way. It doesn't sound corny at all - it is lovely and touching. Brooke :-)

Thanks, Keith - yes, it pretty much is a hymn to rain :-) Since the kyrielle comes from the kyrie eleison in the church service, I think the musicality of it is a great benefit :-) Brooke

Inspiring imagery wrapped in singing verse inside beautiful rhyme and glorified by the smoothest rhythm in Christendom. No particular favourite line - they are all so lovely.

Oh, wow, this was so wonderful. I love the rain too--the silver drops, the sweet, wet scent, the peaceful patter... I could write a million poems about the rain. I enjoyed this so much!!

When, Brooke, you write 'en kyrielle',
you make words flow like honey sweet;
pure phrasing sounds quite like a bell
with breathless images replete.
You go on from strength to strength. Peter

I lift my voice in glad refrain - Me too, my friend.
This is absolutely lovely,
the choice of words, the
rhythm and rhyme -- and such
a beautiful picture to accompany
the words - all in all, just perfect,
and deserving a six, but alas - I
have none.
Thank you for making me smile, Brooke.
