Hi Brooke I love it. What a great aim your pastor preached.
Rather thought prokoking. Oh well we all can't be perfect and saying sorry doesn't hurt anyone. Cheers Gaye

I'm with you. Plan B seems to be in effect most of the time. I seem to have hurt peoples' feelings/sensabilitites without meaning to. There's nothing wrong with saying you are sorry, if its needed and heart-felted. The world would be a better place if more people are willing to go to plan B.

adewpearl--This certainly captures a frailty
of protagonist/man. Pious theme carried well
by introspective sparsity and personal senti-
ments. Good luck in the contest. teafor2

Sometimes I find myself having to go to plan B. Even when we strive to not have to day it, it is right to say I'm sorry when you really mean it. Great write. Thanks, Jeanette

adewpearl,
Enjoyed reading your "unapologetic lives". It was thought-provoking and "tickling". And yes-- I, too, often have to go to Plan B. elaine

Hah! Good one, Brooke. The senryu and naani are becoming my favorite forms of poetry, thanks to clever ones like this I see on FS. "Sorry's my plan B"--I love it! Mary

Mary, thank you. I am so much fonder of the short forms since joining this site a year ago. Brooke :-)

This is a very interesting twist on 'Do Unto Others...'. At first I thought God was giving us the OK to just forge ahead without much thought to what anyone else thought, not apologizing for who we are. Then I read your notes. :) Not being very religious, I didn't 'get it' exactly right at first. The idea of leading an unapologetic life, with "I'm sorry" as Plan B, is one that would help us all think a bit more before we either speak or act. Kudos to the guest Pastor. Kudos to you for an interesting bit of Senryu.

Thank you for taking the time to think about this for the intended meaning and for your most gracious response to that meeting :-) Brooke

The beauty of saying 'sorry' is that He will accept it, even if we still feel the guilt. In fact that may e the hardest part.
I think most of us would be doomed without plan B.
This is a wonderfully succinct poem about one of the most complex issues in any faith.

Thank you, John, for your most thoughtful comments about the need for plan B and the way God receives our sincere apologies. You are such a kind man. Brooke :-)

My dear Brooke- -living a life that is unapologetic is difficult to say the least- -never having to say "I'm sorry" would be wonderful if only. . .you have expressed it well in this write stating that "sorry is plan B"- -That 'sorry' when truly meant and followed through with can be a healing thing- -but saying 'sorry' and then repeating the infraction is insincere at best- -so it would be well always to guard our tongue and our actions so we may be able to live that 'unapologetic' life. Thank you and thank you for the notes as well. An excellent senryu for the contest and always I wish you luck.

Oh, yes, there is nothing worse than the glib and insincere sorry - thank you for your most thoughtful and thought-provoking response to this poem, Rose of Sharon :-) Brooke
