Hi Brooke A lovely cinquain with a great beat like the waltz, and what a wonderful choice of artwork. A a bit behind on my reviews, lifes a bit of a gallop at moment. Cheers Gaye

Hi there adewpearl
I love the comparison of the dance to life. You have crafted it superbly ... like perhaps a three dimensional affect ... I am not clever enough to describe here, what I mean! yet I feel it clearly. Maybe I have been on this computer too long. It's a very good, well resented cinquain. Marion.

Marion, thank you - your reviews always mean a great deal to me :-) (though I think you may have been on the computer too long yesterday since you called my poem a well resented cinquain. LOL) Brooke

I think so too! I had been doing a lot of writing, mixed with gardening and then reviewing! I apologize for not checking my work! M.

1-2-3, 1-2-3, 1,2,3 2-4-6-, 2-4-6, 2-4-6 I find it very interesting that the rhythms can be overlayed in a mathmetical structure:
1-2-3
2-4-6
The beat of the cinquain doubles the beat of the waltz.
Thanks for sharing.

I really liked this poem as it was short and got directly to its poetic point. It was an excellent piece of poetic dancing poetry. This was just a delight to have read and written a review for.. John

The presentation of this poem is wonderful. The cinquain is done very well as if in rhythm with the dancing. Nice job on this piece.

Not everyone can dance as well as those on 'So you think you can Dance', and not everyone can waltz through life with ease and elegance. For the rest of us, we just fake it; life and dancing. Neither Ellie and I can dance, so in those slow numbers we just get real close together, real close, and just sorta sway around. Problem is, what do *I* do when the dance ends?
Great comment on the condition we all find ourselves in from time to time. Brooke, you always amaze me :)

John, I love that show - I was watching it when I got the idea for this poem - I have two left feet and two bad knees, but I've always loved to watch those with grace :-) Brooke

Adewpearl,
Its Funny how chaotic yet graceful life seems to be. You capture this perfectly. I really like the artwork you chose as well. Good job

Hullo Adewpearl ....
This is short and sweet and brings back memories of the days when dancing was beautiful and elegant. I enjoyed reading what you have written and there is nothing to suggest changing.
Thank you for sharing this with us.
With love from .... Nanette Mary.

I was inspired to write while watching So You Think you can Dance where some of the numbers are still elegant - it is a great mix of waltzes and hip hop with everything else in between :-) Thanks so much, Nanette Mary. Brooke :-)

It took me several reads to get it, but when I did, it hit me in a profound way. I always enjoy when simple lessons are crafted beautifully. One suggestion: hyphenate "three quarter". It's a modifier of time.
