Well versed. I remember too well that sound. It was like music to my ears. Aren't babies cute? Wish you luck in the contest.

Hi there, skye, and thanks for this beautiful image of a young child suckling in its sleep, which you have captured so well in this haiku. Best wishes, Kenny

Hi skye,
Not only did you follow the rules for the two line haiku, but you also created an adorable image in the readers mind. I'm sure you'll get a lot of aaaaws with this cute entry. I think a lot of voters are going to find this irisistable. You just might have a winner here.

Good Luck,
Helvi :o)

You handle the two line format of one line of concrete imagery and one line of insight well. Good use of alliteration. Fine haiku.

Hi skye,
Great job in creating the vivid imagery of the infant rosebud mouth. Imagery carries over as I see the infant suckling while sleeping. They look so cute when they're sleeping in those flannel pajamas, eyes closed tight and in dreamland. Love the close up image of the rosebud mouth that's the center of attention as it continues to suckle.

Excellent haiku as you create delightful imagery in less than 13 syllables. Good luck in this contest. This one should be a strong contender .. ;) sk

Great entry for the contest- fits all criteria for the 2 line Haiku. Much said in the imagery of the first line- insight defines it all beautifully! Bravo and Blessings!

There is nothing as cute as watching a baby while they sleep and that little mouth is sucking at nothing. It is just adorable.

I like the picture you paint in here. I can remember those babies' mouths moving in their sleep, smiling, suckling the air. Great picture.

That is one of my favorite memories of my children, and now, of grandchildren... watching their sweet little mouth move in sleep.
    Thanks for the wonderful review.

Never thought of a rosebud having a mouth, skye. Very inventive of you and I now see it 'suckling' the dew. Very clever.

Best wishes, Ray xx

Thanks for the kind review. All mothers see their infants with these little rosebud mouths... it's one of the gifts of bearing children. LOL
