Hi Brooke A lovely poem. Reminds me of 'When I wish upon a star' you show in your words that wishes don't always come true. Cheers GAye

Hmm.
I dunno that this is "sad".
A falling star is one of the most beautiful and magical sights there are, aren't they? And do you remember the first time you saw one?
A great poem, Brooke, but I don't know that it worked the way you wanted it to.

Sorry it got lost in the translation, Nescher - it is meant to be ironic - a play on the term falling star, the traditional meaning being of shooting stars and then my meaning of a plummeting star that falls in the more negative sense. Thank you for your comments. Brooke

A lovely poem with an abruptness that tells the story of a reality that we all face! Always just a breath away from an event that takes away, that which just moments ago, appeared within our grasp! Very well done!

This is a lovely and poignant little poem, Brooke. I like the way you managed to make the cinquain rhyme, which is not easy. Very nice.

A bittersweet, but good poem. Good imagery, good storyline, but stars don't fall, meteors fall. A star ends it's life in a much more spectacular manor. It goes Nova or even Supernova, the cataclysmic explosion to which all too many love affairs have in common with the end of a star.

Brooke,
This reflective cinquain is well-written and presented. The artwork provided seems to be of stars in motion! An interesting picture!
The message you include here is profound and makes me want to "thank my lucky stars"! I'm blessed, thus-far.
Thanks for sharing this with me.

This cinquain is nicely done. I really like the coupling with the picture you chose. It is amazing how you took just the right words to make a point quickly and to the point.
Good job.

Just like in real life wouldn't you say? LOL. I liked the content if not the style of this work. It showed a good line of reasoning for the obvious last line. Good work, a fun read. Robbi
