Gorgeous, elegant and provocative. What more can you ask from a poem? I love the shaping cascading splash. We need more of that and less of rumble and thunder.
As always, beautifully done. Nick

Oh, this is just lovely. I have been to Niagara falls, but I've also seen some much smaller, forested ones, like the one in this picture. WOnderful job. YOur description is amazing.

I have seen both huge falls including Niagara and smaller ones, too, and I love both. Thanks, Mary, for your kind comments - I'm glad this one speaks to you :-) Brooke

This is so beautiful in its visual presentation and its superbly crafted language. This short, but mighty offering winds its way down as thought provoking allegory, finally crashing down in a tumultous interrogative! Beautifully done!

Dictionaries (and thesaurus') are my two of my best friends right now:) They are wonderful right hand men:)
You brought up an interesting thought here. Must we only hear the chaos and turmoil of life-or can we depart from that way of thinking and enjoy the good things we are given? I think that is one of man's greatest (and one of the oldest) questions. It's one that only the individual can answer, but I wish we could all be in unison and stop and enjoy the simple things we take for granted (as we all do at some point or another).
A great thought provoking piece!! You did a fine job!
Jaded:)

Niagara is always in too big of a hurry for me. I like the small, whispering falls. They're relaxing and so soothing to the soul. Love the picture you used and your writing.

Beautiful poem here and especially in the form you wrote. I think you did very well expressing the emotion you feel for the force of the waterfall and also the fact that they have a peaceful side too.
Great picture to go with a great work.

Painting a picture of the sound of waterfalls with your words. I suspect that level of art requires pretty special talent. Very enjoyable. Great concept; impeccably delivered.

For once our pronunciation is the same. I say niagra with three syllables, too. :)
Loved the "g" sound (reminded me of the gurgles of water bubbling and flowing from rocks into a stream.)
Good point about the need for quietness amidst all the raging sounds in our world. This theme works well for nature (Niagara versus cascades) and our lives in general. We need to spend time in awe at power used for the good, rage at power used for evil, and in quiet contemplation and escape.
Excellent. I can't see anything to nit-pick over. (Usually don't with your poetry!)
Enjoyed this (of course!!)

Thank you, again, Brooke for yur wonderful imagery that made me feel a mist of cool water on my face. I had to come to one of your poems to cleanse my mind of maybe one of the worst I have ever read....Good grief, I wish I was mean enough to give him 3 stars, but I just couldn't....

Thanks, Annie, for this great review. You're not mean enough to give a 3 and I rarely give them either, but quite a few folks on this site LIVE to give two's and below! LOL

I have encountered such people! Bastards! If I wasn't desperate for member points, I go back and rip apart some of their stuff...So nervy!
