A powerful poem, Brooke. Sad and brutal in a poetic way.
You're on something of a roll here, aren't ya'? Getting tired of all this love and praise from me, yet?

Hi Brooke What a lovely poem to go with the legend. Is this where the saying 'Moon Struck' came from? As with the poem the artwork is perfect. Cheers Gaye

Thank you, Gaye. I don't know where that saying came from, but it's sure a thought! :-) Brooke

Gotta complement you on your use of the multi-syllabics. You follow the tanka format well, and the imagery and story line are great.

Hi Brooke. Another lovely poem, designed and written to perfection. I admire the way you can put them out so easily - each one being so individual yet joyful. I love all your poems on nature, you are talented. Marion.

There is something serene about a lily pond, even if frogs are hopping around, going about their business. I never thought about lilies being fallen stars, but I can see the beauty in what you so poetically say. Excellent write, Brooke. Blessings, Linda

Oh, this is lovely. I really like the reference to the water lily as a fallen star. It is indeed very legend-like. Wonderful job and good luck in your further work.

Hello again Brooke,
I liked this poem, but the author notes really put it into perspective. Not only were they interesting, they filled in whatever gaps plagued my perceptions.
Great poem and a neat story.

Wow, Brooke, you just have a natural knack for this poetry gig. Your imagery is untouched. Great job, as usual. And I love the Brazilian legend that goes along with it.

Your observant eye finds beauty in all of our natural world, and your creativity makes poems that speak to me.
Very well done, with another favorite flower of mine.
