Hi Brooke,

The picture of the bride is beautiful. The images the poem evokes are stunning. The poem has the qualities of a fairy tale.

I'm so glad you thought this sounds like a fairy tale as that was the effect I hoped to achieve - thanks so much. Brooke :-) Brooke

Even Job's tears? What a wonderful lyrical poem, filled with such fanciful words and flowers. I couldn't believe it when I read it that it wasn't one of the poets of old that wrote it. How beautiful. I think I like this best of all your poems. Lovely

Carol, I am so happy you like this - aren't the names of the heirloom flowers just beautifully fanciful?? I really appreciate your lovely comments. Brooke :-)

Nicely done, Brooke! Nicely done indeed! A great collection of flowers to make this romantic and delightfully old-fashioned scene. Love the promise and the props that go to make it up!
Hey, did you see Himself's reply to your review last night? Cracked me up, the pair of you!

How romantic that this guy would buy her flowers, let along what what kind they were. Summer always has more love in the air, must be the sun. Enjoyed the poem and the picture.

Well, he's a poet and the kind of guy who likes my poetry, too - so I think he's in touch with his sensitive side :-) Thanks so much, Joyce. Brooke

Wonderful. Bravo!
We adored this one Brooke. What an amazingly romantic poem. And stunningly presented. I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful and well written piece. You've managed to touch the tender side of this rugged guy, once again. Well done.
This last stanza was perfect, but the last line, was icing on the cake. Superb.
Though love lies bleeding for lost souls
who have eyes that have cried Job's tears,
if you will only pledge your troth,
I will gladden you all our years.
Enjoy your day mate. May it be filled with every delightful thing. Just for you :-)

You better watch out, Brad - Donovan just got finished telling me this is chick poetry. ROTFLMAO Thanks so much, my friend and my friend's wife :-) Brooke

I'm pretty secure in my manhood Brooke. LOL. I don't ever put on a show or act like a pose. I know I'm a rugged guy, I don't feel the need to prove it, buy stomping my foot on the gentle soft or beautiful things, like some men do. LOL.
So, it does not not frighten me in the lest, to show a softer side. I love beauty and I can appreciate it in whatever form it takes. I'm not limited to only ogling the beauty of a woman :-) LOL.
Besides, who cares. I love your poetry. It's awesome!..
Brad... :-)

I'm checking mail before serving breakfast this morning - this is the first thing I've read - what a lovely way to start my morning :-)

This is a chick poem if there ever was one. The mere fact you would google it is evident that you are a chick poem poetess. Not that is a bad thing....

This is amazing! It took me a couple of stanzas, puzzling a bit over the italics, to click they were flower names. Beautiful flow, given the constraints. I would never have believed there was a flower called 'Kiss-Me-Over-The-Gate'! Thank you for enlightening me again. :)

Adele, after my friend told me about the name, which is hard to believe, I googled just to confirm it, and that is when I found all the other names too. Thomas Jefferson wrote about Kiss Me back in the 1770's and they're still growing them! :-) Thanks. Brooke :-)
