Brooke,
This is a garden of beautifully feminine imagery. It is one
of those poems that gives you the feeling of the soft, cool
touch of a woman's hand on your face.
Fondly, Lyle

"if you will only pledge your troth,

Oh, Brooke, you're SO clever! This poem is absolutely gorgeous! Not only in the words and phrases but the use of the heirloom flower names. I honestly, take my hat off to you!
Now I have to go and google them myself!
Warmest wishes

How you think, girl! I've read this delightful poem several times, amazed at how you've incorporated the names of those flowers into the rhythm and rhymes, without once losing the theme, or the beat. Wow! You rock, Brooke! I bow before your amazing talent. Love it!

I'm glad you provided a full explantion for this poem.
I don't know that it'd work at ALL without the explanation, or if you weren't into flowers in a big way.
Still . . .

I'm not sure why it doesn't make sense to you without the explanation - I just reread it and I still think it comes across as a cute story that makes perfect sense without knowing it uses flower names. Thanks, Nescher. Brooke :-)

Well, Brooke, all I can say is this was truly amazingly wonderfully penned. Not only did it have a sweet story to tell, it was a lot of fun to read. Plus! I learned something about flowers I didn't know. Send this to garden catalogs, etc. and make a few dimes. I can even see it on a Hallmark card. Really nice! :-)

You are a budding genius. Fancing weaving all those flowers into your verse. Excellent and a delightful read. The bride looks as though she has a bit of Cooper's. Lol
Good work

This is outstanding! What a treat. I wish I had another six for you! What fun that they are all heirloom flowers. I need to look them up now. Only I won't come up with such a beautiful poem.

Beautiful - just beautiful...
has such an easy flow to it
and excellent rhyme -- would
make a good song... what a
clever, imaginative mind you
have, Brooke.
Just lovely.

The beauties of betrothment...I like that it seems like a quid pro quo. Give me my dreams of the perfect wedding and I'll fulfill your life time dreams. And...Of course you worked some flowers in there... Good work. (and another Bible reference)
