I read a ton of your work that I never get around to writing a review on because my reviews have become too repetitios, i.e. "great, loved it, such talent," etc. However, when I come across one that particularly resonates with me, I have to note it. Violets remind me so much of my childhood trips to the Louisiana woods to gather a bouquet for my mom. Thanks for the memory. ann

Thank you, Ann - that is lovely of you to let me know this connected at a point of common experience :-) I never want anything more than to have one of my poems trigger great memories for readers :-) Brooke

A fitting tribute to a beautiful little flower. Even an old cowboy can appreciate the beauty nature presents. Nice use of alliteration to help the flow. Sorry, I've been negligent in reviewing. I'm way too busy for my own good. Roger.

Roger, that is sweet of you to read something no longer promoted. You've been busy for a fine reason, so don't be sorry :-) Brooke

Viva violets! I can dig it. Thry grow wild in my yard, all along the fence lines. Purple they are, just like the picture. Thanks for sharing.

Review the ones that pay you some money!

Yes! Another in the wild flower haiku series. Again, I loved the alliteration with the v's. And matching the purple to violet. What a nice final line - viva violets. Sue

I really enjoyed the description that you conveyed in just a few words. I am really beginning to enjoy all of these haikus. You have been working overtime on them.

I've been in the car for the past three hours and your wonderful haiku was just what I needed to relax. Wonderful job and good luck in your further work.

Hi B
I love your haiku "Verdant Meadowlands" Wonderful picture. In your "Author Notes" you wrote "this flower that grows low to the ground and bows its head beneath its heart shaped leaves," How sweet is that, it takes on a cartoonish character .

Brooke,
I enjoyed this haiku and found nothing to criticize. The lawn of my back yard is covered with wild violets, and they bloom every spring.

The legendary modesty of Viva Zapata, maybe. However the Viva Las Vegas brings out the Elvis in you. It's nice to get the floral education that goes along with the poem. With a purple violet in your hair you can relive the 60's and I won't tell Miranda that I saw you dancing in the window.

Viva violets! I love it!
Great alliteration.
This (or maybe the daisies) is my favorite of your haiku series. This has a warm whimsical feel. The artwork is cute and lends a soft innocent presentation.
Beautiful.
