As you know, I'm catching up - so, no need to take the time to reply. I'm so pleased you have found the haiku because you are VERY good! And, I am sure this will be one more piece in your book. I can't believe that you are so new at writing this genre that obviously fits you. Sue

Sue, thank you - of course I'll reply :-) I find haiku the most difficult of ALL forms to write, so I especially appreciate compliments when I write them :-) Brooke

Oh, my! This is gorgeous... the poem and the flower.
The presentation is absolutely fabulous!!
I especially liked your last line:
beauty beyond price
Too many things are given monetary worth - this flower and poem are (as they say in the priceline.com commercials - priceless!) I think it's priceline ads anyway. lol
This is a lovely haiku, Brooke.

Good syllable count, and great content, but the 2nd and 3rd line seem more connected than the 1st and 2nd line. Try swapping the 2st and third lines in your minds eye.

This is a lovely haiku about Ladyslippers which are one of the most beautiful orchids that I have seen. Nice imagery and beautiful photo.

A lovely toe point by the elegant slipper of a refined lady. Another haiku for your collection- -this every bit as lovely as the last- -your notes always informative and appreciated. The flow of these three lines not only tells of the beauty of this flower but of its protected rarity. Thank you, Brooke. RoS.

Thank you, Rose of Sharon - how DID you figure out this was part of my series with blinders on? LOL You're the best. Brooke :-)

DUH!!! twas the beauty and the exquisitely chosen flower and color- -yours, dear Brooke, are easy for me- -just the way they are written- -perfection. When I saw your name after reviewing I wondered how I missed this one- -can't figure it out unless I didn't open the message- -but this server has shut me down in the middle of things and I've lost 'wonderful' reviews I've written LOL ;+)

Could it have been the notes, perchance?

Gorgeous illustration and gorgeous words. Even you author notes are gorgeous. A lovely verbalizing of your deep sensitivity to both the simple and complex beauty of nature, all "beauty beyond price." My admiration. Nick

I didn't know that about Lady slippers. Very interesting! The poem is lovely and elegant as the picture of the flower. I'll have to keep my eyes open for them from now on. Beautiful picture. Oh and if you are going to do poppies, there is a new photographer with a lovely shot of
pink poppies, she uses the name DJ Harrington. LOL

My poppy poem is about the blood of soldiers, so the orange would not have worked anyway

Hi Brooke You're right how can one put a price of such beauty. You're collection of wild flower poems is certainly building up and they are all lovely. Cheers Gaye

Another startlingly beautiful and incredibly concise haiku. Certainly 'beauty beyond price' says it all for me. Very nice, Brooke.
