I'd take the "time" over money any day!!

Great entry, Elaine.

You've written a full story in only six words. What a lovely tribute to your father. You displayed your thankfulness and admiration very nicely.

    Jonez08,
Yes, I know how blessed I was to have my sweet Daddy for so many years. He died at 80--and my sweet Mama is still here at 87! elaine

Hi there,

What a lucky child you are. Children need dad's money, but they need more dad's time, dad's love and attention. Wish you luck in the contest. Warm wishes, tati (June 21, 2009)

What a great commentary on your father - my father also gave time, and it pains me when I read writers who say their dads did not. He just took me with him when he did Saturday chores - we got the car washed together - went to the dry cleaner. and then all the fun stuff, like trips to amusement parks, but the little everyday things that cost nothing to take me along were the most common and the best - he's sing to me in the car :-) Your dad sounds special, even from just six words :-) Brooke

    Brooke,
Yes, my dad was sweet and special--for all of his 80 years. My mom is still here at 87--and continues to be a sweetheart. I know how blessed I am. elaine

I love the theme expressed so succinctly. Time and love are so much more important than money! Your picture speaks volumes as well - a perfect artwork match for your theme. Best of luck in the contest.

Warm Regards,
rama devi

You have captured in six words the love that a father gives outside of the realm of material provisions. Your use of "Daddy" brings the tone of childhood into the six words.
