Hi Brooke what a laugh, little darlings dressed in designer clothes still have the same body functions as all children and your little poem certainly showed this point.
Cheers Gaye

I'm not sure I get this one...
Are you saying someone designed silk clothes for a baby?
I read the notes...I guess so.

Yes, they sell baby clothes by Dior and Armani and others that sell for hundreds of dollars. A bit ostentatious and wasteful for me. Thanks, Brooke :-)

Hahaha, hi Brooke. This is a great poem. I love the alliteration and rhymes in it, and the last line is great. the picture goes along with it really well also. Guess what - school ended two Fridays ago, and last Wednesday I came down with the flu and I still have it.

Well, I am extremely sorry about the flu - but that's great about school!! Do you have summer plans once you recuperate? Thanks, Brooke :-)

Hi Brooke
Your poem really made me smile and the picture is so cute, it compliments the poem so well.
I always think its such a waste to spend lavishly on baby clothes. We never could afford to anyhow, but even if we could have I dont think I would have gone overboard...not on baby clothes!
Take care
Diane

Diane, yes, even if I were rich, there are many things I would never waste money on in some ostentatious display. Thank you, Brooke :-)

Lol! That's great! My sisternlaw and I are always fighting. If i buys something for the twins from a resale shop -you will never see them in it. If you buy it outrageously priced from dept stores or places like gymboree or the childrens place than she puts it on them. So, I saved me some dillards bags and throw the resale clothes in their - she doesn't know..lol!

I love your deceit!! Isn't it silly that a person cares where something comes from - not what it looks like, but where it came from. My father had that weakness. He always wanted to buy everything from Wanamaker's, the upscale Philly area department store, and that was fine for some things like adult clothes because they were well made, but he also wanted to buy things like Rubbermaid kitchen products there even though the K-Mart down the road sold the exact same Rubbermaid products for 40% less. I could not convince him nobody would know where the heck our Rubbermaid came from. LOL Thanks, Brooke

brooke,

what a delightful writing to read, my friend. As always, it had your gracious style of humor and wit. I do feel sorry for your daughter, however. Having to take money from those poor slobs with too much money.

Reggie, believe me, she is more than happy to accept her salary - for which she more than earns every penny!! LOL Thanks, Brooke :-)

Yes, these folks also have too much time on their hands; so they are probably seeking out those pricey hamburgers also!

"Kid couture" and its alliteration, along with the "d" and "s" examples were neat elements. Questioning the permanence of "silk stains" was a kick and a half. You obviously had fun with this one and found a nifty picture to illustrate it as well.

Yes, loads of fun - thank you, Joan and happy June. :-) I awoke to the good news that I've won the springtime poetry contest, so the month is off to a good start :-) Brooke

Double wow--many congratulations--although I am not surprised. I must go back and re-read your work, since it is still spring, and I can't think of a better way to start my day. Enjoy --Joan

I wrote and posted it half way through February - I didn't even remember the contest had ended recently. LOL

LOL

I like the humor in this, Brooke. I can't imagine putting a lot of money into baby clothes. When my children were babies, they wore something a few times before they outgrew it.
When they were toddlers, I wanted them to be able to 'play' in their clothes and didn't worry to much about stains and such. LOL.

This is witty. Thanks for the chuckle.

Oh my goodness! To dress a baby in Dior--it better be poop proof!

Cute, humorous poem here. I bet you gave yourself a chuckle. : ) Did Miranda laugh?

Yessss, unfortunately, they are! I have two new babies in my life....great nieces. And, lots of nieces I've helped "grow up". Plus, a gorgeous granddaughter. So, guess where I love to spend my time. In the BEST children's stores. They have the CUTEST clothes. And, much more expensive than anything I would spend on myself. It's not just the poop, however. They grow out of them in two days! All that money down the drain. BUT, it gives me tremendous satisfaction in the meantime.....Sue
