This is really interesting, Mike, to explain the various ways the people on this radio show affected your attitudes and how that affected how you go about writing poetry and putting it out there - it is a really interesting connection but not one most people would have ever thought to make. Brooke

Well, getting into poetry I was wet behind the ears, a virgin so to speak. My thoughts towards it was also parotted by academia and various poetry associations. In having my attention captured at how the radio station handled its problems, it had me not only asking a lot of questions about my poetry, but forcing considerations and having me look about. I loved the sheer torture and adventure of mountaineering and happily I found it in poetry as well.

I don't think I could have picked this up in a literature class, but it seems to me that all arts are linked, by conception and one's spirit. With poety I have been able to turn artistic failure into success and also use techniques in other arts that I was never given the opportunity to master and even use it to live out fantasy. I love this aspect and to the best of my means and ability, I hope to develope it to at least a modicum of success. In the mean time, I receive much joy.

I thank you very much for reviewing this and the compliments. With love, Mike

Very interesting. I haven't read many books about how to write poetry and found this very creative.

You do a good job of showing us your thoughts on writing poetry and how others have influenced you.

Technically, only one thing jumped out at me.

Another aspect I learned from his is courage. (him)

Well written and interesting. Good job!

I will make the change tommorrow. The books are out there and I piced up a couple, but instead of studying them as I planned, I use them as a referance to figure out the best form it wants to take. Mainly to defend my works. LOL

Amazingly for me, poetry has been an inclusive affair and surprisingly has challenged me on presenting it to others. I thank you very much for your correction, the compliments and this review. Mike

mike, and interesting interpetation of how to create poetry..I think I agree...as it is soulful..there is no true form of poetry, as, they are constantly creating new ones, and combining old styles, so if someone ever says this is not poetry, then get a life, because it was just created by me!!! haha..my thoughts..so hate the conformist! Well, have a lovely day, dear friend, much love twomoon

Thank you very much for your compliments and this revew. I read a few books and attended the lectures at the convention, "If you want to be a poet, do X-Y-Z" But don't expect to make any money at it or be acknowledged. I thought to myself, what in the hell do I do in the meantime, that's were I decided to call myself a poetic writer and sort of scripted out my poems.

To be honest, I thought of five different lectures that I myself could do at the convention: "The Journalistic Aspects of Poetry"; "The Fine Poetic Painting"; "Weaving In Meaning to Poetry, Hell Try Two or Three"; "Executing Philosophies Behind Poetry[As opposed to the poet.] Also using the big stage, with its sound and lighting and working with dramatic performace. There is so much you could do, evoking emotions, the beat scene, etc. Maybe see if their hired band could be incorperated for five or ten minutes. Hell, they might like to give that a try. I haven't developed them outside of my mind. In a sense, I lit the poetic fuse and didn't get away fast enough, I see poetry in so many more facets then are described and poetry can be found in everyday life if one allows the thoughts and observations to mesh with it. In a sense, that is why the second year I promoted FanStory so much with my display. To indicate to other people there are alternatives. I think for the most part that FanStory is meant to be a fun site, yet I wonder if Tom even raised an eyebrow at the fact that I am using it as a means to eaisly reach out and promote my works there it. The only problem is it is also an easy way to ruffle feathers within the poetry world, I got more then a few: "Who the hell does he think he is?", looks and attitudes. I also got some very interesting encouragements as well.

I will probably ruffle more feathers with the convention, even though I am not going this year. I have suggestions, including lectures, but that is in addition too the basic lectures, which in my opinion can't be changed. I got so much out of them. Not hate the conformist, but not be trapped by it. Right now, I love writing and not the best with the daunting administrative aspect of it all. At this time for maximum enjoyment and challenge with out burnout, I am thinking of poetry more like a film processor. Just maintaining the gear train and the chemisty feeling that I will hit the right tank, temperature and time so the in the end, there will be a good image. I expended part of this chapter by a paragraph.

One hell of a review, Two. I thank you for it, K2

I wanted to be a painter, much like her piano teaching, my mother never taught me. No I don't have the time to sit infront of the canvas
