This is a consummate septolet, Brooke, and a superb example of your poetic prowess. You have a way with words that few on this site can approach. Peter

Hallelujah!
This septolet just oozes with joy. Although those left behind are heavyhearted, Sammy's spirit is not sad.
I am sorry you have lost your friend, Brooke, but I am glad you are rejoicing his life.
Blessings,
Nic

A funeral is not for morning the lost of someone, but to celebrate that person's life. Very well written with good imagery and descriptive scheme.

Once again you give us an interesting
life thought to reflect upon.
I wonder how many agree and how
many would totally disagree.
Sadly one of my sons does not
see the spirit resurrected.

Radio, thank you - I know many don't agree, my own two adult children included - there's just not anything everyone will agree on :-) Brooke

"Do not stand at my grave and weep. I did not die, I do not sleep."
Somebody.
A lovely piece, Brooke. I'll pray for you and yours.

I love this simple piece of writing, especially the second part. I believe what you have said. A week ago Saturday, we buried my brother-inlaw. He was a good man. His spirit now lives in the house of the Lord.
