This is a wonderfully orchestrated poem, Brooke. I used to have the most beautiful lily of the valley flowers at my old house.

Fairies in the woodlands where the lilies grow? Oh how exciting!! I need to go visit my old home and take a closer look at who might live there now. ;)

The photo is not of a lily of the valley - but I'm sure the reason is because the fairies didn't want you to disclose their mystical hiding place!
(I've been stuck in the house all week and getting a little loopy... LOL forgive me of my strangeness. haha)

    There were no darned pictures anywhere on fan art of real lilies of the valley - it was a frustrating search. LOL Thanks for your delightful comments, Nic. :-)

Hi Brooke,
This is such a lovely poem and I really liked how you incorporated health and healing in your verse. I purchased a beautiful Lily today and after reading your poem will think of you when ever I look at that Lily. Thank you so much for sharing this beautifully written poem. God bless and best wishes!

I really heard bells chime during the poem. It couldn't be the real bells, must be words.
It's a very good poem, very descriptive, making a wonderful mood.

I think you have pretty much mastered this form, Brooke. I know your daughter will love this. Lilies of the valley are beautiful flowers. I know what you mean about finding the right picture. Sometimes they're just not available. I think one thing I like about your poetry is it has such a lyrical or musical quality. It moves so smoothly along. It's easy to read and I think the numerous examples of alliteration help the flow. Rhymeman.

brooke,
lilies of the valley are so beautiful and smell so sweetly. made me smile. wow~ your daughter is 27. how time flies when we are having fun. this is unique. "In herbal medicine, the lily of the valley is used to treat heart disease." i just read a dean koontz book about a man who received a new heart from a woman named lily. :P

Another brilliant offering. The language you use is lyrical and lilting. The message againfinding its mark flawlessly. I have no more superlatives, but I am constantly enchanted as I've said before.

As I've mentioned before, your author notes
are as enjoyable as your lovely poetry. I now
have renewed respect for this little inhabitant
of the meadows. Thank you for the poem and
the remarks! Carolyn

I triple-dog-dare you to find an audience of more than five people and read this aloud.

::Grinning::

I liked it. Alliterative and springy. Good stuff, Brooke!

Where mesmerising insight flows
upon a bed of meaning,
the passion born in poetry
helps knowledge find our gleaning.

The facts we need reside in truth
where mesmerising insight flows.
We type our way to our approach;
we're poets in our final throes.

The day the rattle shakes our throat
we find our way into the light
where mesmerising insight flows
as we embrace our final night.

Let me be there, when death I find,
let my thoughts find repose.
let truth be glorious freedom,
where mesmerising insight flows.

Mike
