This is fun and fabulous.
My father-in-laws favorite movie was High Noon. He loved everything with Gary Cooper in it!
This is a lovely tribute you've penned, Brooke.
I enjoyed the wonderful imagery.
I'm in the mood to watch a good ol' western now!

Hi Brooke,
Nice tribute to a very well know actor. Loved the second and third stanza. The art makes a good presentation and the whole poem is very well written. Thank you for sharing and God bless and best wishes!

I have read all your stuff, and I am unable to critique. All I can say is that I have become a fan and look forward to your future posts. Great Job, Brooke, you have quite the mind for poetic verse.

Good morning and thank you!! I am honored at your thoughtful comments - and you don't need to give some sort of expert poetic commentary - just letting me know what words appeal to you or letting me know if a poem connected to some memory of yours - that kind of stuff means far more to me than hearing some poetry expert tell me my meter is good. :-) Brooke

Hello adewpearl, you have written another fine poem. I remember Cary Cooper as well. My brothers and sisters loved to watch his movies when we were young. We often played cowboys fighting the bad guys. Another fine write.

Thank you - I'm glad we share memories of his fine movies and of playing cowboys and Indians or cowboys and villains. :-) Brooke

Another winner. Gary Cooper would be proud! The author notes once again were as much a "six" as the piece itself. The amazingpart is that the author notes could stand on their own. Thanks for sharing your exceptional talent with us!

Yes, Brooke. I have to fit this in when I can and I have been quite busy of late. I have missed the reading and the writing very much. I try to keep up.

Yes, Gary Cooper may have been that understated hero
whose roles always allowed him to portray the strength
of character that we Americans like to think is in
our psyche, if not our genetic makeup. Your poem is that
heartfelt wish that many carry in their hearts. I loved it! Carolyn

brooke,
i think i do remember seeing him in a few movies. lately i have caught a few of the oldies but goodies. nothing like movies where imagination is important. made me smile.
imagery is excellent.

Oh, the all time best ribbons are just for poems that have gotten 25 or more reviews, and I suppose they have to be mainly 5's. It's not as impressive as it sounds. LOL Thanks so much, Brooke :-)
