Little Lexi - comfortably safe in her nanny's embrace. What beautiful contrast to the storms outside!

This is a tender account of precious moments with Lexi.

Are in the middle of the storms? Or were you? Nice and sunny here in Cali!! I really like this one. Very sentimental and close to the heart. Maybe I should read poems like this more often:) Dogz

we were in the middle of storms--fortunately, our little area was missed--love, jan

jan,
when i worked as a nanny the little boy was fascinated with MASH. his dad and i figured it had something to do with the sound of the helicopters.
made me smile. nothing like watching new fascination, even if it is because of storms. easy to read and follow. no spaggies. imagery is excellent.
love,
barbara

Thanks for reading. I apologize for generic response; however, my fibromyalgia has been really acting up the last few weeks. Have been saving most of my energy for darling Lexi and completing my homebound teaching duties.

you are welcome~

This is such a neat idea you have of perserving your memories of you time with your grandchild. I think they do realize they are safe in your arms. Evan babies can sense they are loved and protected. Nice poem with a great picture.

Wonderful job with all imagery in this set of 5-7-5's. The title caught my eye as I'm currently under a tornado warning down here in Dallas.. in fact, a tornado just struck one of the Dallas Cowboy's practice bubbles which collapsed and there's been injuries. It happened less than an hour ago, so it's the top news story. It's raining hard where I am, and I'm told there's another tornado headed this direction... Anyway..beautiful job with the baby grasping your thumb, her eyes on the screen, and understanding she's in a safe harbor no matter how bad the storms are outside. Thanks for the notes. 10 weeks old is so young, yet she showed great awareness and understanding. She knows she'll always be safe in Nanny's arms.
You picked the perfect artwork. Enjoyed your poem and the feelings it evokes. Well done.. ;)

Hi Jan,
Just think, someday she will read this and know exactly what she was doing and what was going on around her on this paticuliar day. Your love and sense of need to protect your grandchild is so clear. She is a lucky little girl. I loved the stanza...
quietly you sit
already understanding
this is safe harbor...
Good job with this heartfelt love poem. Thank you for sharing and God bless and best wishes!

Good morning Jan and you have indeed captured the terrible and fearfullness of the storm; yet at the same time the peace, security and love of a mother's arms. I enjoyed the photo pic as well, good work! Loyd

I like the form of the poem and the background you have chosen to write it in. The picture aptly portrays the bad weather. The imagery is very good. I can just see your granddaughter grasping you thumb for security. Nice job!
