Jan, I am enjoying this diary of Dear Lexi, and your author notes are very helpful for the reader's imagination, they invited us to your home too. Thanks for sharing those joyous moments which reminded me of my own when they were younger, I mean own grandchildren!

Good morning Jan and this is very lovely I so enjoyed it. Thank you for using my photo.

I wonder if I could get you to send me a copy of this poem and change the baby's name to Jada? It would be such a great gift for the lady in the picture.
I don't know if you read my poem "Reunited" and the foot notes, it is about this lady. I wish you would.
God bless and let me know, OK?

PS Don't forget to look at the story of the month nominations.

Thanks for reading. I apologize for generic response; however, my fibromyalgia has been really acting up the last few weeks. Have been saving most of my energy for darling Lexi and completing my homebound teaching duties.
where do you want me to send the copy of the poem?

Well done expression of the unique relationship between grandaughter and grandmother!

Especially liked:the times when I'm with you

is there nothing you will do

which will not seem brand new

as we continue this journey

some day your mom will see

the best gift she's given me

is trusting her dear Lexi

after surviving growing up with me

my mom and she were tight

and I often stare into the night

thinking about all that's surely right

for us to continue the tradition

There is nothing more special than the grandkids. I'm honored to be able to watch mine while their mom works, and I love it when they always want to go to grandmas. Loved the poem.

Rdfrdmom2,

This is a BEAUTIFUL poem. I envy you so much! My daughter graduated from the University of Texas in December but there are no signs of an upcoming wedding or anything of that sort. She is living with a man though so maybe it is closer than I think.

The theme was excellent. The flow was smooth. I love your formatting, it looked so nice. Well chosen words are expressive. The impressions were vivid and the narration was nice.

I only spotted one small nit-

naptime is special
**nap time

Everything else looked good.

I look forward to seeing you again.

Love you,

Oatmeal

This is a nice poem that tries to explore the emotions associated with being a mother r a grand mother. The words are deep and evoke love. kudos

Hi Jan,
as we carve out our rendition...
With 2 grandchildren of my own, I know how special that rendition is. Your poem flows with your grandmotherly love and the hopes and dreams along with Lexi's growing will always bring wonder into each new day. Thank you for sharing and God bless and best wishes!

Oh this is wonderful. What an enchanting poem. I wrote some articles about my granddaughter too. I remember the same things. It's the most wonderful experience of one's life. You really painted a picture of it with your beautiful words. This is excellent work.

i see this is another journeying of Grandmothers and Granddaughters and if reads with the smoothest wording and the sentiments are always present.

What serendipity. Thank you for the background on the dates. I enjoyed your use of alliteration at the beginning and your rhymes. My favorite phrase was "carve out our rendition".
