LOL
I liked your fun notes. ;)
This actually reminded me of a poem with an inspirational platitude that I wrote once. haha Seriously. ;) I might post it some time - after a few adjustments have been made to the cliche'-ishness of it. haha
I hope the storms stave off - for at least a little while. ;)
Thanks for the smiles.

Nic, thank you - I just get frustrated with some of these guys who get on TV and make it sound like all one has to do is have a bit of positive energy and success upon success will be reaped. The "want it, you'll get it" philosophy gets me down seeing that I want it and I'm not getting it. LOL I can't wait to read your poem. :-D Brooke
I agree, Brooke.
You can think positive thoughts, but you still... Like Forrest Gump said... never know what yer gonna git.

Wow! very powerful! This short but pungent little poem says a mouthful. It would suggest no fighting needed for a rainbow, a mist now and again will have the same outcome. Nicely done!

I give up.
You write the shorties and let me grumble.
;0)
A good piece, Brooke. Nice and clean, but I LIKE thunderstorms!

Brooke, i really enjoyed your poem. I have not been on FanStory much this week because of what I am going through at work. I work for Saturn and the brand is being eliminated by GM. I have worked in the same store for twelve years and we are like a second family in our facility. Your poem gave me some hope as we all don't know where we will end up. There is always a rainbow after the rain and when one door closes. another opens.

Mary Jayne. I'm so sorry about this - my son owns a Saturn and so does one of my nieces. I have worked in a couple places like that where the staff were like family and I know what it is like to lose that family. You are in my thoughts. Thank you for your review. Brooke :-)

LOL You are so right! Success may be sweeter after a failure, but it really doesn't take away the sting of that failure. And doggone it, it sure makes you paranoid about when the other shoe is going to fall! Nice poem with a definate ring of truth!~:O)J

Okay Brooke,
I get the jiff of your very short poem; it's like you are saying, 'don't have the storms of life last so long, but please some how keep that rainbow of beautiful hues always stay in our lives.'
Just my thoughts
Love your poem

Hi adewpearl
This is so 'sweet', 'cute', 'true', 'apt' and I agree! Like the way you spoke your piece of mind in this most simplistic way. Marion.

Hi Brooke Simple, sweet and to the point. You're right over the years I've been to hear these motivation speakers and usually came away thinking, I know all this, I could be standing up there earning big bucks. LOL Gaye

Yep, they state the obvious but just state it with a bit of bravado and give it some new name - most of it comes down to rehashing Norman Vincent Peale's the Power of Positive Thinking - and I think he came up with that in the 1940's. Thanks, Brooke :-)

"Motivational Speakers, Stand Aside" is a short, but creative satirically reflective cinquain poem that's well written and stated. Here's to smooth sailing.
