Aaaaw! You spell-binder, Brooke. Both children and adults would enjoy this one. I love the rhyme, alliteration and apposite choice of words. You've even persuaded me that a butterfly and a ladybug [preferable to our 'ladybird']can become friends. But I suspect friendship is part of the ambience of your garden. Peter

Peter, I actually had one reviewer who was a bit overly scientific who marked me down on this one, and one reason is she told me there was no way to know if they had become friends. LOL And yes, my other Brit friends have already told me you guys prefer to call them ladybirds instead of lady bugs - that is because Brits are just more quaint than we Yankees are!! :-) Thank you for your lovely comments, my friend :-) Brooke

Hello Brooke! What a wonderful pair and your poem is equally wonderful. We need reminders every day to take time to enjoy the many things around us. Thanks for the shove :>)

I love the idea of a ladybug and butterfly becoming friends while sitting watching you weed. I wonder what they would think about us humans?
Blessings and a beautiful garden.

Thank you for another enjoyable piece. Our outside of the house is full of "Painted Ladies," This is one of the greats sights of Spring. However they don't stay long. Maybe it's me?

What a perfect poem for the perfect picture! (Surmed is one of the greatest photographers on fanart, he is very good at his art)!! Love the imagery again, you have been on a roll and I am so far behind on my reading that I have missed much. These last three poems all have the same excellent imagery and are quiet, soft and peaceful. Easy to read and clear message. Very feel good poem, can feel the warmth and the earth between fingers while picking weeds. Lovely.

Well, just how cute was that one?? My two favorite spring time insects. Butterfly and ladybug. I have always tried to save a ladybug whenever one gets in the house or car by mistake. I don't know why I like them so much other than they are so set apart. Loved this one to!

Maybe they developed a love affair before the catepillar became a butterfly. Would that be something. Great little poem, and sad how much we miss out on, because we're too busy.

Dear Brooke,
What a charming read, I found it enchanting and compelling...I am so sorry I am out of a six.
You have such an abillty to take us somewhere wonderful with your written word, while I enjoy sharing my observation on mankind...I would so like to write poetry such as this.

Brooke, nice job on this delightful and light poem. I think you are great and taking the photograph and writing a poem about it. This poem flowed wonderfully and made me smile.

I loved the art work of the butterfly and the words written. The wings of the butterfly here, is just magnificent to see.
I loved the line about the butterfly and lady bug becoming best of friends.
