This spiritual poem is simple, but has a very strong message.

This almost sounds like a hymn. You can sing it to the tune of Amazing Grace!

Lovely.

Nic, thank you :-) Never occurred to me to sing it - but yes, it uses a meter often used in hymns. :-) Brooke

Brooke,
I enjoyed this poem and the humor in your author's notes! It's always hindsight, isn't it, that we see it would've just been easier to behave in the first place!
Thank-you for sharing this lovely poem.

This is a nice introspective and reflective piece . Virtually everyone can relate with that struggle with temptation that often sees us in the pit of sin against our wish. Well done.

The simple sketch was just the right artwork for your little poem; I liked your poem regarding temptation. So simple the words and yet so poignant its meaning. Thank you for sharing and good luck with the competition.

Kay, thank you! I came in second in the competition to a fun poem about dessert temptations, but that's okay. LOL Brooke

I loved your author notes on this! Well done, a great poem and lovely image to go with it. Great work again! No SPAG that I could see, sits all very well.

Your short quatrains have a lot of wisdom in them, but also speak to human nature and the tendency to go astray. Without sins, there can be no salvation because there would be no need to save anyone.

Good points in this poem, Brooke, and in your notes too. It is far easier to restrain that to retrain. Your verse is simple and short, yet gets the message across beautifully. Rose.

Awesome imagery and I love the picture of the apple accompanying it. I do not know your spiritual persuasion, but mine does say "he removes our sins as far from the east to the west." I like to think of our accidental sins as being when a toddler, trying to walk, falls down. We do not blame the child, we know it's simply a stage in his development. No spag, suggestions, corrections. I wish I'd written this. shy

Shy, thank you so much for saying that! I do believe God forgives our sins. I also believe we need to take responsibility for our actions and do our best at all times to treat others with respect, honesty, fidelity. Thanks so much, Brooke :-)
