Hi Brooke You are bringing back the true meaning of Easter to me and all the things I learnt from the nuns in the convent I attended as a child. A lovely poem, yes Jesus knew, LOL Gaye

What an awesome picture this poem brings to mind. I can't wait for Christ to make his true triumphant entry into the hold city. Great poem.

Dear Brooke,
Normally, I do not care greatly for these more abstruse poetic formats, but your use here is delightful, as is the clarity and depth of your faith. Both your poetic skill and your faith are to be admired. This is a deeply meaningful poem.
Regards
Reg

Palm Sunday is a day of adulation and praise and glory-filled Hosannas. That's well described in the first part of this septolet, Brooke. The next part breaks your heart because you've allowed us to feel Jesus' pain at his knowledge of his foretold coming death. Well written, and again, this is most informative. Lyla

Hi Brooke.. ya know this one struck me funny... I don't see Jesus crying at his triumphant entry to Jerusalem... seems just wrong to me... don't know why other than it showing emotional expression I don't think He would have had.. I felt the ending could have been taylored to say

"Tears welled withn Mary's eyes" showing a proud and loving mother... just me.

I'm going by Luke's account - now, I have no idea if Luke was reporting it accurately, but you'll have to take that up with him. LOL And I've always thought of Jesus as having vulnerability and very human emotions during his time on Earth - the more to make an empathetic connection with people, so I won't be changing this one. :-) Thanks, MIchael for your always thoughtful input. yes Luke does say that Jesus wept but those tears were over the upcoming fate of Jerusalem as he paused to overlook the city... I think your poem implies a welling up over the crowds praises... which was what seemed strange to me... just the way i'm taking it i'm sure..

A beautifully well written piece of art. The message is clear as is the imagery. It is breif but powerful and articulates a strong message for all to see and provoke in thought. Thank you for sharing appreciated insight.

I like your use of the septolet form to illuminate the contrast between the crowd's adulation and the imminent unpleasantness. You've managed to portray a lot of back-story with a very brief poem.

Very beautiful.
Author notes are very well presented and highly significant.
Well written and paints a clear picture.
Jesus knew what they still do not know, even after all that has happened.
Very well done, Brooke. :)

Excellent Brooke!

Hosanna indeed!

We will never fully know the burden that Jesus carried that week, we can never comprehend it I am sure.

Great job on the poem.
