Now this one brought back some happy memories Brooke.
You have captured the essence of the puffins so well. When my husband I were first married we live in an apartment in a house called Puffin View because it's back looked out over the Menai Straits directly at an island known locally as Puffin Island. As you may have guessed, it was a small rocky island that was home to a colony of puffins. We had no TV, but a pair of binoculars gave us plenty of entertainment :)

Love it! You have painted a bright and comical picture of this interesting bird.
I enjoy learning about creatures that show God's sense of humor. Thanks!
I, too, hope they can be saved. I wonder, though, if the increase in seal numbers has anything to do with their lack of food.

This was sweet very sweet and sad to see. The creatures of nature are being killed because of us how sad is that. A very moving poem I loved it.

Brooke, you've created yet another masterpiece here. I personally love puffins, they are so bumbly and cute. It would indeed be a crying shame - a crime eve - if these dear little birds were to become extinct. Not leaving much of a legacy for our children are we - as a race of creatures I mean.
Wonderful writing.
Warmest wishes

What a wonderful way to explain the plight of the Puffin. Such endearing little creatures! And like so many species we are doing little to make sure that they survive all that we are putting our planet through.
Thanks for the much needed reminder that not all the beauty we have today will be here tomorrow if we don;t do something NOW.
I be sure to check out the youtube link.
Thanks for sharing!
Sincerely,

I loved the art work and the wonderful words written here. The auks look so cute,I like them. I hope they don't die out because of Global Warming. We may have left changes to global warming a lttle late I feel. We need to act now.
Loved your words written here.

Wish I hadn't squandered my 6th star...
This is adorable (Sorry. I know that is fair gender language, but what else can I say?). I am impressed by the subjects you choose or that inspire you. No need for angst, horror, love poems or the like when you can do this with auks. Bravo! I would not alter a single word or space.

You have described these birds so beautifully as they should be if we ever lost these birds it would be a shame as they add colour to the earth and surroundings I enjoyed regards Fuller

I love this poem about certain birds who
lack the streamlined body usually seen in
flighted birds. I can even identify with
it - as the "mother" of an African Gray, a
bird that has been likened to a "flying sofa"
by those who study bird-dom. Your poem is great!
("Flying drunks" - love it!) Carolyn
