What a georgous photograph of the tree; I loved your poem because it enlightened me to the real meaning of the dogwood tree. I think this is one of the best poems that I have read of yours; it is very right for the Easter season and you certainly have poured your heart and love into the words. I thank you for sharing this beautiful piece of poetry.

"My father" sets it up perfectly...God the father...
A beautifully structured verse that flows to a symmetrical ending.
The final lines are a perfect ending:compassion triumphs over hate,
and hope outlives dismay.

Superb adewpearl, absolutely wonderful. I knew of the legend but I like how you portrayed it in such an easy to read, clear manner. Beautiful imagery, excellent choice of words. I grew up in the south, so dogwoods are very special to me. Great job.
