Beautiful! Trash to treasure!

This poem made me think of the film, "Sweet Home Alabama". Jake and Melanie find glass on the beach (made by lightning and sand), and Jake later opens a glass shop. (The glass shop in the movie is actually an old mill that is about 5 minutes from my house.) It's a great movie. If you haven't seen it, I recommend it.

I have seen it and enjoyed it - I am a sap for romantic comedies :-) I always cry. My daughter loves to watch movies with me so she can make fun of me when I cry. LOL Thanks, Brooke

Hi Brooke

Very original! Very original! And so true. I really like this image. Well done. Yes, he does give it back doesn't he, and in a more beautiful form if you ask me. Marion.

No - sorry! No story. Very little writing being done, but with Steve gone back to the fires in Australia, (he was home for four days only) hopefully I can finish off the two I was in the process of writing and get them posted onto FS. I still have Chapter 2 to write of my mini-novel AND Chapter 5 of my children's story, Sahara and the Kangarooster. I hope to settle down to them soon. I am trying to do a few reviews each day when I have a little spare time so you will see me popping in and then out again! Talk again soon. M.

This was an artistically inspired cinquain. I had heard about these pieces of sea art. God transforms the oceans into artists who take our discards and make them into rare pieces of glass. You continue to see so much of nature in your poetry.

A provoking thought indeed. Although I myself would not attribute such a marvel to God but the to the deep and perfect oceans themselves. Still, it is marvelous how our trash is turned into something so pretty :)

The only thing I felt about your poem was that the -- after the second line wasn't really needed. Otherwise, good stuff :)

I reread my cinquain - If I did not have a dash I would have to use some other punctuation in order for the poem to work for me - I find it absolutely necessary, which goes to show how subjective punctuation can be in poetry. Thank you for your thoughts, Brooke

Hi Brooke How lovely your messege in your poem, but not so lovely when one goes walking on a beautiful beach and it is marred by careless, thoughless people just leaving there cans and bottles behind. Cheers Gaye

Gaye, yeah, until the ocean makes glass into sea glass, it's just ugly trash!!! Thanks, Brooke :-)

I love sea glass, but your author notes are fascinating. Perhaps I'll look a bit harder next time. Well done, I thought it was great.
