I really like how the drape seems to be this heavy thing that the narrator acknowledges and controls, yet the looking is very light, only glimpsing and peeking. This piece very much summarized the "peek, ouch, done with THAT thank you very much" ritual we go through, but in a much more eloquent way. Excellent job!

This piece was very witty. You are evasive just enough to make me read it twice, and then there it was. We can chose not to believe something, but do we really know and simply say because of the pain it will cause to actually "give it life" so to speak. Nicely done

Hope very well you have executed your message. Just a peek, a glimpse to keep one in check and then close again. Read many times and each time became more profound! It almost like each time read the drapes were opened a little more! Thank you for sharing!

Sounds like this is 'trying to keep it real'. I agree, sometimes we need to stop and review ourselves. Are we on the right path? Are we doing something that actually gives us a sense of fullfillment? Are we struggling but know it's worth it in the end?
I liked this poem. It's very individualized.
