Hi IIrish,
I enjoyed the lively word picture you created on an exploding volcano. Your haiku is well written and has an energetic quality to it, just like a real volcano does.
Thanks for sharing.

this is a fascinating contest. Every single entry has to be on a volcano and a haiku. They've all been excellent. I have no idea how anyone can sort them out to vote!! This is excellent Indy.

Paracutin still fumes
Destroyed San Juan with a puff
Church tower still stands
Fascinating topic, well presented.
Paricutin last erupted in 1943 and covered the town so completely that only the church bell tower is visible above the all-encompassing ash.
How many remember the Caribbean island of Monserrat's destruction?

Karyn, this was a very well written story and a wonderful contest entry. Hard to review for me since I seldom understand them, but this was an easy read. Best of luck in the contest.

I know I wake up everytime my hot molten lava explodes. I usually have to take a couple of Tylenol pm's and drink a glass of chocolate milk to calm down and go back to bed..;)
Hi Indy, excellent contest entry as you followed all of Ray's rules. Nice imagery of what's happening underground, beneath our range of vision. After Volcano's wake up and start throwing temper tantrums is when we usually pay attention to them. I can see now that volcano's are prone to indigestion.
Wishing you luck in this contest. I'm tempted to create an entry, but I don't know if I can follow all of Ray's stringent rules... :) Cheers... SK

I liked the image of the brewing eruption being "hidden underground". I also enjoyed the bonus of a bit of alliteration in your 5-7-5 with its successful satori.

This is the second one of these volcano Haiku's that I've read friend, both are excellent, I think you have got a great competition on the cards if your two[ You and Ray] are anything to go by.

You're awfully good at producing these visual images, Indy. Haikus may be your forte! Nice choice of colors to go with the topic, too. Good luck, kiddo!

Hello M! Thank you for such a lovely compliment. I do enjoy trying to cram all the syllables in my head into a 5-7-5 format. Believe me...it's quite the challenge. LOL
Thanks!
