I'm voting on the 'VOLCANO Haiku' contest and as always, I am reading all entries before deciding. The number of entries and need to stay employed prohibit a more detailed review, but I like the way you wrote it - straight and to the point. Boom!

I love how you describe the explosion of the lava, the red on black makes the image even more vivid. Good luck in the contest. Karen

Your haiku brings strong images of what is happening deep in the ground below the volcano. I thought you did very well in painting a brilliant verbal picture. Rose.

Good poem, Indy. Not as unique as I find most of your poems to be, but I still enjoyed it. I liked the last line the most. Nothing more to add.

    Hello DB! No, the volcano haiku all kinda seemed similar in that lots of writers used the same words. But I'm always fascinated with haiku and can't resist their challenge.

The awakening volcano; surely one of the most terrifying images in nature. You've aptly described the hidden power in the belly of the beast, and given a graphic image of how the whole eruption process works.
