This was a fun cinquain Brooke.
I am digging at the bottom of my inbox before more unread ones get dumped :)
Is artragist the name on fanstory as well as fanart?
Anyway, a fun cinquain and a great picture. These look a lot like the Zoo Atlanta flamingoes - similar enclosure.

Good thing their is an illurstation, the poem is so short, it has a phallic quality about it. LOL I did enjoy it and found it well written.
Personally, I am a whirly-gig person and for years made fun of the cutout of the lady bending over in the garden. I may make on with the action underground so her bum moves. We make fun of lawn ornaments, but really that is one way to show off our personalities and a lot less expensive and time consuming the a garden itself.

Here in Florida, the pink flamingo lawn ornament is almost required to signify you made it to retirement. It's almost looked at as an accomplishment. I worked my whole like and now I have the pink flamingo to prove it!LOL Great write as always, enjoyed.

This is such a cute approach. I love anything that features the word 'erect.' LOL I love your note at the bottom, always so educational. I thought there was some reason for their always perching on one leg. . . turns out it's just an elegant quirk. I couldn't do proper watercolor to save my life, but it fascinates me. This is just a photo, but I played with the contrast and light levels, so I can see what you mean about it looking like a painting. One other thing: why such a bright pink? Doesn't it just make them all the more edible for predators? I guess fashion has no price.
Hugs for using my photo and for the lovely poem.

I think the pink comes from their eating the brine shrimp. Sara, I'm so glad you enjoyed this - I so wanted to use one of the pieces from your portfolio :-) Thank you for the inspiring picture, that lots of readers loved!!! Brooke

This is cute. Great job, Brooke.
Your author notes are always so informative and interesting. I also have wondered why they stand on one leg, but I disagree with you on one point - I can't stand the tacky lawn ornament! haha
Great artwork to compliment this fun poem.

Nic, I love tacky kitsch - not in a - isn't that beautiful way but in a - isn't that absurdly quirky kind of way. :-) Thanks, Brooke

Flamingos are beautiful.Hopefully lawn ones cannot live. I have very tacky one on or patio made of wood. A close friend of mine and I saw it at a garage sale. He said it was the most ridiculous thing he had seen for a long time. So I had to buy it right then and there.

Dave, you're like me - I love tacky things for the sheer absurdity of them - they're like strays who need loving. :-) Thanks, Brooke

Annelisa - oh, I am not afraid to say something's tacky! LOL
I just enjoy tacky things the way people love dogs that are so ugly that they seem cute :-) Thanks so much, Brooke

I took this as a serious piece because it was well written with a hint of mystery. The words hit home and filled the imagination with much information regarding the life around. very well done...DKLRD

I hope that even when I make a point humorously I am making a serious point, so thank you so much for that comment. :-) Brooke
