Wow! This is just beautiful, the idea of an artwork is excellent and runs right through the novel with subtle hints. An original and sparkling viewpoint brings new life to snow, so often seen as an inconveniance.

Brooke, you are a genius. You constantly amaze me! You spit out these works of art in the blink of an eye and they are spectacular! Please share you secret.! haha
I, as you already know, am trying to play catch-up just reviewing the works that I missed while I was away. I'm barely finding the time to do that - much less do any writing. ;) As you spoke of in another poem I reviewed earlier -- If I controlled the hands of time... I'd slow the clock to give me time to write!! ;)
As a lover of nature, I thoroughly enjoyed this minute poem. I love the snow (for a day or so - ha)and the way it gives a sparkling clean blanket of beauty. You have displayed that beauty so well in this poem.
A gust of air assaults packed flakes,
and carving makes <--These lines are LOVELY

Kat, I so wish it just spilled out of me naturally - I spend lots and lots of times writing and revising and then revising again each line - changing words, changing lines - it is so nice to hear it sounds like it just came out naturally!! :-D

Evocative, mental imagery, the usual soft flow of rhyme and metre. I have been away for a few days, but nothing has changed. You are still Numero Uno at this type of work.

When I see snow (rarely does this happen!), I am amazed by the beauty. I love to sit inside a semi-warm house and watch the flakes drift down. That's my love of snow. Simply as a viewer. Walking in it, being cold, nope. Not for me.
So, I do understand your poem. It's beautiful, but after awhile you yearn for warmer days.

An enjoyable read for sure. Our snow melted away in one day and it was a dark cloud of rain that followed. Such is the life in the Emerald City. I really like the line, "Tree's shadows painted on the snow."
