You may remember I am new to poetry the different forms of poetic expression
and naani meaning expression of one and all seems to say so much with so few
words, in this instance your message is clearly understood and eloquently expressed. Thank you for the experience Colette.

WOW!
This gives quite an impact.
This profound statement can't be ignored. It stirred my heart and made me want to make a difference.

Beautiful work. A poem that makes someone "feel" is a great one indeed! Nice work, Brooke.

Excellent and a good thought provoking poem. It will get rave reviews, I'm sure. Personally, I sponsor 3 kids in India through Compassion International...so at least I know I can do something. Another great poem.

My daughter sponsors a little girl in Zambia through a different organization - that is such a worthwhile thing you both are doing!! Thank you, Brooke

A very powerful message here, of course. And yet the message never seems to get through. I remember one red nose day the presenter clapping in one second beats and saying, "Every time I clap a child dies." It's simply not conceivable... Anyway, a stunning poem.

I appreciate the thoughtfulness of your response - and of course people have not heard, for if they had, the dying wouldn't continue. Thank you, Brooke

The ability to reach so many with so few words is amazing. You have managed to do jus that. Very powerful and empowering message.

A very powerful poem. I was not aware of these numbers, but it is appalling!. And here we are, living in the richest country in the world, thinking about those poor little darlings, dying in the countries where civilization has not reached our level. What can we do about it? There is a program "Sponsor a child", I belong to it. How can we help the world? Great social commentary.

Yelena, the stat is from the UN - it works out to 16,000 little ones dying a day. My daughter also has an adopted child through one of those programs - a little girl in Zambia - that is sure one way to help! Thanks so much, Brooke :-)

Brooke, another one of yours that has touched me so deeply here tonight. I'm reminded of a Sunday service a few weeks ago about missions work, and feeding the hungry. I was so deeply touched by God's heart of love and compassion, and his compelling plea to go out and do something about it. Here, I see you are - bringing awareness. Kudos, and take care,
Heather

Heather, thank you for your warm response - everyone can do something - volunteer work, advocacy like this, contributions - my daughter has "adopted" a little girl in Zambia by sending money each month - if everyone did something, so many children could be saved. Thanks, Brooke

Wow. You certainly have a way with expression. I was unaware of the statistic but this poem makes not only the statistic stand out but the results. It is very sad. This was extremely concise and well written. :) Cheryl

Cheryl, the statistic is from the UN - it is based on 16,000 beloved children each and every day. Thank you, Brooke

This is a true life poem that should make everyone think. Photo is amazing accompaniment. I generally do not tout anything hollywood does as it is such a shallow place. But it is my hope that the movie slumdog millionaires puts some needed light on poverty in such places as india. Through the presses unrelenting hounding of the younger stars unfortunatley. But still whatever is necessary.
