Lovely!
This short poem says a lot. Forgiveness is something we all need.
I love the reference to sins turning to ashes - very clever writing.

Your author notes are very profound. (Especially the last line!)

Great work, Brooke. I enjoyed this.

Brooke,
This poem and it's deep meaning is well-written and should be comforting to all. The truth in this message has a profound effect on the soul. So healing is forgiveness, not only of others but of ourselves.
Great color scheme; the presentation is lovely. Thanks for sharing this with me.

Yes, in my church's service, they literally are - people write their sins on slips of paper, which are then burnt and used for the ashes used to place on their foreheads. Thank you, Brooke

Beautiful message inside these short, succinct lines.
Sin is gone... through the atonement of our Savior, and our own repentance..
Very well done, great artwork to enhance your lines.

This poem has nothing to do with what religion you are but mre about the repent, forgiveness of anyone who is truly sorry. I liked it short but strong. Thanks!

You know on second read I think this does apply exactly as you say Brooke.

Forgiveness is a very powerful cleansing action.

What a very interesting picture you chose, so peaceful.

Great job!

The Ash Wednesday worship service is one of the most meaningful to me of all, for great release is found in the burning of my sins which produces the ashes my pastor marks upon my forehead. Your eloquently worded, perfectly constructed two verse poem tells just what the symbolizing of Ash Wednesday is all about. Bless you for writing it. Lyla

People tend to find forgiving others hard and we as individuals can find it harder to forgive ourselves at times but I've learned to fogive myself and others to make my life more blessed and healthy.

Yours is a good attitude because if we get stuck in guilt, we can't really move forward. Thanks, Brooke :-)

I love this Brooke. Such few words but so well said. Our family is catholic and also celebrate Ash Wednesday - but we need to sin with the pancakes first on Pancake Tuesday!! Great job.

Warm regards.
