Joanie, thank you so much for this most generous response to my poem - I am honored and most appreciative. :-) Brooke

I like this poem. It quite clearly defines the term "enlightenment" - solid. I think that the wording of the fourth line is weird - do you think it might be better to change "each question gives who seeks the chance to grow" to "each question is the seeker's chance to grow"? It's the same syllable count and I just think it sounds less awkward. What do you think?

very well put in this short poem
Enlightenment grows brighter only
of course if we pursue it by asking
questions. therein is the path to
wisdom. Everyday is a learning day
if we so desire. Another gem for you.

"While in search for truth, to ask is not to know but to grow."
A great philosophy is being expressed in a sweet short poetic form.
But the truth ne'er gets revealed in a sweet short period of time. To say in an exaggerated way- "One life is not enough."

I thank you for your most generous rating and kind comments. I truly appreciate this! Back to your question about syllables - this cinquain, for instance, has the 2/4/6/8/2 count. Brooke

I think that most of my life has been spent looking for the truth of what I see and hear and think and feel. This poem is excellently thought-provoking. Another expertly excuted cinquain, Brooke. Blessings, Linda

Hi Again
I'd like to say "ditto" but that's not allowed.
If you're not an interior designer you ought to be - bet your home is beautiful - you have such a flair for putting words and pictures together so stylishly.
Cheers
once more

I agree with this 200% too bad there are people who think they are so high up on the food chain that questions are an insult. I really love the art you found to accent your great wealth of words.

Hi Brooke,
I didn't see this before. Good piece of philosophical thought.
I used to work as a research chemist and we allways were of the opinion we learned more from experiments that failed than from those that worked.
Best Wishes

Keith, researchers certainly understand the importance of questioning, even when the first answer is not the solution! Thank you, Brooke :-)
